Memorial stone to the Ogre residents repressed in 1940-1949

Address The crossroad of Upes and Meža prospect, Ogre
Description

The memorial stone in Ogre was unveiled in 1989. It was created by a stonemason Jānis Lapsa. The author of the idea for the inscription engraved on the stone is Herberts Valters. The centre of the square is highlighted by rays that intersect in the centre, forming a symbol of the morning star. Two paths lead to the stone. They symbolize the different destinies of people - one straight, short, with obstacles, the other - winding but convenient.
