Sculpture "Baltā cielava" (The White Wagtail)

Address Brīvības street, Ogre
Description

Made by sculptor Jānis Karlovs, the sculpture Baltā cielava is located at the end of the pedestrian part of Brīvības street. The sculpture was installed on November 18, 2013, and represents the wagtail as a fragile bird which manages to protect its children under any circumstances. Just like the mothers who suffered from repression had to endure the harsh conditions with their families. The character of the white wagtail symbolises the Latvian people.
